Our very own Alumna, Martina Germinario
Director of Rooms, Mandarin Oriental, Boston

Martina’s journey with Mandarin Oriental began in 2014, when she was introduced to the Rising Fans programme while studying at the Glion Institute of Higher Education.
Drawn to the opportunity to rotate across multiple departments, she gained hands-on experience while building strong foundational knowledge of hospitality. The programme left a lasting impact, inspiring her to return to Mandarin Oriental after graduation and pursue a career in a profession she felt genuinely passionate about.
From the outset, Martina was entrusted with meaningful projects and gained direct exposure to senior leadership. The experience strengthened her operational understanding, encouraged independent thinking, and fostered a strong sense of ownership that accelerated her growth. By pushing her beyond her comfort zone, the Rising Fans programme enabled Martina to contribute to initiatives that elevated the guest experience and shaped her positive, solutions focused mindset.

Since completing the programme, Martina’s career has continued to flourish. She began in Housekeeping as Assistant Manager, became Executive Housekeeper in Geneva, and later moved to Boston as Director of Front Office Operations. In early 2024, she was promoted to Director of Rooms. Her journey highlights how the Rising Fans Programme empowers graduates to grow with confidence and accelerate their careers within Mandarin Oriental.
