Federico Scolari, a 2009 graduate from Glion with a Bachelor’s in Hospitality Management, transitioned into private banking and now works for Lombard Odier in Geneva. He believes that hospitality and finance share more in common than people might expect—service, attention to detail, personalization, and trust being among the most important overlaps.

During his studies, Federico was influenced by witnessing the 2008–2009 financial crisis, which sparked his interest in economics and the bigger picture of how financial systems operate. He did internships in hospitality (in southern Spain), then finance (in Paris and on a trading floor in Geneva), and those experiences solidified his move into the financial services sector.

Federico attributes much of his success to the broad-based education he received at Glion—developing not just technical skills but also emotional intelligence, professionalism, and adaptability. He also gives back by being involved with the Glion Alumni Accelerator program, mentoring, networking, and speaking to current students about alternative career paths outside traditional hospitality.
